Can I be honest?

I haven't really been too motivated to post on deviantart recently. It's hard to avoid feeling like your work deserves more attention after you put a lot of effort into it and it lacks the massive responses you were expecting. This craving for attention and feeling of jealousy are things that I'm currently having to deal with in my heart. I don't want anyone's pity though. I'm growing and that's all that matters. These are the moments that will fuel my drive me help me mature if I respond correctly.

All of that to say... I will continue to work hard, build, create, and enjoy what I do and post on this website when I have time.

To those few who've stayed with me and have been following my work for a while now, please forgive my lack of responses. I truly appreciate you and I need to be better at acknowledging you individually. Thank you for the continued support! If you wanna follow my life and work a bit more closely you can check me out on instagram. @marcuscthomas or www.instagram.com/marcuscthoma…  I post regularly there and you'll be able to see exclusive posts and progress pretty much before I post to any other site. :D

Anyway. Just thinking out loud I guess. :)

I think it's.. understandable what you are going through... We all want to feel appreciated, and that we have a place where we belong..
One thing that helps me, is to understand that art is a tool to serve others, not to be served. (I say this in the best way possible.)
People will flock in when they feel like... they are a part of your work in some way. Like, building community by answering comments, or giving to the community in some way or another.
And yet, it's hard to respond to so many comments when your page starts to become often-visited. But, it's sort of a balancing act. Some neat connections with people can be made by answering their comments.
It's time-consuming and tiring, but the reward is equally proportional.

Your work is beautiful, and God has granted you a big measure of pure creativity! But if you're thinking of receiving more attention (which your work definitely deserves)
including the community by answering them individually will give you a big boost.. (at least, I think) There's interaction, which can be very fun and rewarding.
