Ok humor me for a sec... Think of the grossest, most vile substance ever… Now I ask you… Would you just stick it in your ears? Probably not, right? Well this is the same case with music… What are you putting in your ears? What are you teaching yourself? What are feeding your soul?

I decided that I wouldn’t be very deep on this one. It’s a pretty basic representation of the kind of filth that is being (I guess I’d say) “ear-fed” to people all over the world.

I felt compelled to make this drawing after some recent searches of some of the latest and most popular hip-hop/rap out right now. (It’s one of my favorite genres so that’s why…lol) And I was pretty baffled and disgusted at what I heard. Let me write you a short summary... "Pimpin' pimpin' pimpin', murder, murder, sell drugs" Not too pretty right? Well there is a very dangerous and dark culture in hip-hop/rap. As one of my favorite rap artists Trip Lee said “They got bait in their hooks, they got rhymes full of schemes…” I challenge you guys (and especially you hip-hop lovers!!) to ask yourself some of these questions: “Is what I’m listening to beneficial to my character?” “What effect does the music have on me?” “What’s the real meaning behind the message?” “What kind of behavior am I supporting?” Cause who knows... You might be getting ear-fed muck muzick. (And that goes for all music not just hip-hop!!)

I took this drawing in a different direction… I tried experimenting with some bold colors, bold highlights and I decided to use a
different hairstyle and eye color!

I plan on going deeper with this subject in the posts to come so until then I hope you guys enjoy!
